OGA hosted the Region 2 Championships 2010 the last weekend April 10th and 11th.
Level 5’s started off the meet. Our level 5 team was led by Shiva Bharadwaj who placed 2nd on vault, 3rd on pommel horse, rings and high bar and was 2nd All-Around. Brian McKiernan is Regional Champion on parallel bars, 2nd on rings and 3rd All-Around. Jacob Small placed 14th on floor and high bar, 15th All-Around. In the 7-9yr age group, Sheldon Vacek placed 4th on parallel bars, 7th on rings and 9th All-Around. Max Kaneshiro placed 18th on high-bar and 18th All-Around. Noah Brooke placed 3rd on floor and 23rd All-Around. Bryce Walters placed 12th on vault and 44th All-Around.
In the 10-11 yr old age group, Level 6, Justin Olson is Regional Champion on rings, high bar, 2nd on floor and All-Around Regional Champion. Matthew Harper was 4th on floor, 4th on pommel horse and 11th All-Around. In the 12yr old age group, Keenan Moeller is Regional Champion on floor, parallel bars, high bar, 4th on rings and 2nd All-Around. In the 8-9 yr old age group, Carson Williams is Regional Champion on floor, 3rd place on high bar, 4th place All-Around. Keaghan Auld placed 4th on floor, 5th on high bar and 5th All-Around.
In Level 7, Carter Webb swept all events being Regional Champion on every event and the All-Around Regional Champion. His score of 90.65 is 6 points ahead of the 2nd place finisher. Benjamin Fisher was 3rd on rings, 3rd on parallel bars, 4th on floor and 5th All-Around.
In Lever 9, Zach Ochsenschlager placed 3rd on parallel bars, 5th on rings, 6th All-Around which qualified him to be on the Regional Team at Nationals. Evan Vacek is Regional Champion on parallel bars, 3rd on floor, 4th on pommel horse and 7th All-Around. Evan will be an alternate for the National Team. David Ganz placed 3rd on vault, 7th on rings and floor and 11th All-Around, also qualifying for Nationals. Josh Havelind placed 9th on floor, 10th on rings, 8th on parallel bars and 13th All-Around, also qualifying for Nationals. Tyler Collins placed 7th on pommel horse, 10th on floor, 14th All-Around.
We have one level 10, Patrick Casey placed 3rd on floor, 3rd on pommel horse, 9th on parallel bars and 11th All-Around. Patrick also qualified for Nationals.

Eugene, OR (March 20th, 21st 2010) – OGA Boys bring home the gold from the Oregon State Championships. The meet took place Saturday, March 20th, and Sunday, March 21st, and was hosted by USAG.
Level 4 boys started off the State Championship meet by winning the team title, with 271.8 over 2nd place Salem with a 268.1, finishing out an undefeated season. The level 4 team was lead by Anthony Xanthos who is also undefeated this year. Anthony is state champion on floor, parallel bars and high bar. He received the silver in pommels and vault and is the state All-Around champion. Casey Furuya is state champion on pommel horse and 4th on high-bar, and took home the silver in the All-Around competition. Brandon Lagmay received silver on rings and a bronze on floor and pommel, Bronze medalist in the All-Around. DiMico Ferguson took home a silver on floor, 5th place All-Around.
In the 6-7 yr old age group, Christopher Lambert has silver on rings and parallel bars, bronze on pommel and bronze All-Around. Aaron Xanthos placed 4th on parallel bars, 5th on vault, 10th All-Around. David Smith is state champion on vault, 6th on floor, 11th All-Around. Gavin White placed 7th on parallel bars and high bar, 13th All-Around. Max Laub placed 7th on vault and 16th All-Around. Karson Forster placed 7th on rings and 18th All-Around. Spencer Istook placed 12th on rings, 21st All-Around. Ryan Smith placed 15th on pommel and 23rd All-Around. Rohan Wagh placed 16th on pommel and 25th All-Around.
Level 5 boys took silver, nudged out by Metro Gymnastics 267.3 to OGA’s 266.8, only a 0.5 difference. The team was led by Brian McKierman, the State Champion on floor, vault, parallel bars, high bar, silver on rings and State Champion All-Around. Shiva Bharadwaj received silver on parallel bars, bronze on pommel and high bar and 5th place All-Around. Jacob Small placed 9th on high bar and 12th All-Around. The team was led by Justin Olson, the State Champion on rings and parallel bars, silver on vault, bronze on floor and pommel and silver All-Around. Level 7 boys are the state champions with a score of 255.6 In the 10-11 yr age group, Carter Webb swept the competition by being State Champion in all events and All-Around. Brady Davis took the silver in floor, pommel, high bar, bronze on parallel bars and silver All-Around. Benjamin Fisher is State Champion on parallel bars and high bar, silver on pommel, bronze on floor and rings, and the all-around champion.
Level 9 Took a third place team with a score of 218.10 being a young team this was a great accomplishment and will be contenders for the next few years. David Ganz was All-around and Parallel Bars State Champion. Evan Vacek was 3rd on Rings, 2nd on High Bar and place 3rd All-around. Josh Havelind Placed 2nd on Pommel Horse and 4th All-around. Zach Ochsenslager placed 3rd on Vault and was 5th All-around. Tyler Collins was 3rd on Floor, 2nd on Parallel Bars and placed 6th All-around. Kyle Williams place 5th on Rings and had to leave the competition due to back spasm.
Level 10 Patrick Casey was State Champion on Pommel Horse, 2nd on Rings, 3rd on Parallel Bars and took 4th All-around.
Oregon Gymnastics Academy Boys team had a very successful 2010 State Championship. We as coaches our proud of their accomplishment they have worked very hard and deserve the fruits of their labor. We are the Champions!
Beaverton, OR (March 5th, 2010) - OGA Boys bring home the hardware from the Rose City Challenge. Here are the results, starting with the undefeated Level 4 team, who won their fourth consecutive meet, scoring a 269.6 over the 2nd place team Metro Gymnastics 261.6.
Anthony Xanthos has been undefeated all year in the All-Around competition and once again led his team to victory. Anthony was first on floor, pommel, vault, P-bars, 2nd on rings. Also in the 9 yr old age group, Brandon Lagmay was 2nd on rings, vault, and 3rd on floor, pommel, P-bars and high bar and 2nd All-Around. Domico Fergeson placed 1st on rings, 2nd on floor and high bar, 3rd on vault, 3rd All-Around. Casey Furuya place 1st on high-bar, 2nd on pommel and rings, 3rd on vault, 4th All-Around.

Level 5s were 3rd place team with a 267.0. They were led by Brian McKiernan in the 10-11 yr old age group. In the 9yr old age group, Noah Brooke placed 1st on vault, 6th All-Around. Max Kaneshiro placed 3rd on high-bar, 11th All-Around. Bryce Walters placed 5th on rings, 13th All-Around.
In the 8yr old age group, Sheldon Vacek placed 3rd on floor, 4th on P-bars, rings, pommel and 4th All-Around.
The Level 6 team were first place with a 261.0 to 2nd place Black Hills 260.5. Justin Olsen led the team in the 11yr old age group placing first on rings, P-bars, 2nd on vault, 3rd on floor and high-bar, 1st All-Around. Matthew Harper placed 1st on pommel, 3rd on vault, 6th All-Around.
In the 9yr old age group, Keegan Auld was 2nd on floor, pommel, 3rd on vault, 4th on P-bars and 3rd All-Around. Carson Williams placed 1st on rings and pommel, 4th on floor, 4th All-Around.
In the 12+ age group, Keenan Moeller placed 1st on floor, 3rd on high-bar, 3rd All-Around.
The level 7 team took first place with a 253.3 to Metropolitan with a 232.5 – a 21 point spread! Carter Webb place 1st on rings, P-bars, high-bar and 2nd on floor, pommel, 3rd on vault, 1st place All-Around. Brady Davis placed 1st on floor, 2nd on rings, 3rd on pommel, 4th on high bar, 2nd place All-Around. Benjamin Fisher was 1st on P-bars, high-bar, 2nd on floor, rings, 1st place All-Around.
The Level 9 team took first place scoring a 218.350 beating the second place team VEGA by 4.85 points. Evan Vacek placed 3rd on Pommel, 3rd on P-bars, 2nd on High bar and 5th All-Around. Tyler Collins placed 3rd on Vault, 5th on P-bars, and 6th All-Around. Joshua Havelind placed 5th on Pommel, 6th on P-bars, and 9th All-Around. Zachary Ochsenslager placed 4th on Pommel, 4th on P-bars, 6th on High bar and 10th All-Around. David Ganz placed 1st on Rings, he only competed on three events do to injury.
Level 10 OGA has one gymnast, Patrick Casey he placed 7th on Floor, 6th on Vault, and 10th All-Around.
The Level 5 boys kick things off by winning the team competition with a 263.8. The Level 5 team was led by Brian McKeirnan who took the All-Around Champion in the
10-11 age group with an 89.4. Brian placed 1st on floor, highbar, 2nd on Rings and Pbars, and 3rd on pommel horse and vault. He was followed by Shiva Bharadawaj who was 1st on vault, 2nd on pommel, 3rd on rings and 3rd All-Around. Jacob Small was 6th on rings and 9th All-Around. In the 7-9 yr old age group, Max Kaneshiro placed 2nd on Pbars, 4th on floor and 5th All-Around. Sheldon Vacke placed 6th on rings and vault and 10th All-Around. Noah Brooke paced 6th on floor, 8th on highbar, 11th All-Around. Bryce Walters placed 10th on floor, 11th on rings and 15th All-Around.
The Level 6s took third place with a 256.0. They were beat by 1st place Black Hills with a 258.3. Justin Olson and Matthew Harper both had the same All-Around score of 84.2 Matthew placed 1st on highbar, 2nd on Pbars, 5th on floor and 5th All-Around. Justin Olson placed 1st on vault, 2nd on floor, 4th on rings, 6th All-Around.. In the 8-9 yr old age group, Keagan Auld placed 2nd on floor and high bar, 6th on pommel horse and 4th All-Around. Carson Williams placed 3rd on highbar and pommel horse, 4th on Pbars and 13th All-Around. In the 12+ age group, Keenan Moeller placed 3rd on floor, 4th on rings, 5th on pommel and 4th All-Around.
In Level 7, we had one competitor. Ben Fisher placed 2nd on rings and highbar, 3rd on Pbars, 4th on floor and 4th All-Around.
Level 9s were led by Evan Vacek who placed 1st on Pbars, 2nd on highbar and 5th All-Around. Tyler Collins placed 3rd on floor, 7th on highbar and 9th All-Around. Zachary Ochenschlager placed 9th on Pbars and 10th All-Around, Kyle Williams placed 4th on Pbars, 5th on Vault and 11th All-Around.
Level 10 Patrick Casey placed 5th on floor, 7th on rings, 8th pommel horse, and was 9th all around.
