Beaverton, OR. (April 20, 2008) Oregon Gymnastics Academy (OGA), signed a new 10-year lease at the Cornell Avenue Business Park in an expansion that adds 9,000 square feet to their current space, for a total of 24,000 square feet. Renovations of the new space will begin in June 2008.
OGA has grown by more than 25 percent in the last five years, increasing its number of students from 800 to 1,100. In addition to the recreational programs OGA offers, approximately 120 competitive gymnasts’ and cheerleaders’ train year round at the facility.
The lease expansion will allow the member owned, non-profit to continue to build the program further, said Leonard Spivey, who coaches the competitive athletes and serves as the acting Executive Director of the organization.
“There is a growing interest in gymnastics and cheerleading as competitive sports for both girls and boys in the Portland area and around the country,” said Mr. Spivey. “We’ve built a tremendously successful program, and one that has become truly competitive on the state, regional and national levels thanks to the hard work and dedication of our coaches, athletes and their parents. We look forward to continuing to introduce more young athletes to these incredible sports.”
OGA will expand into the space currently occupied by Hot Springs Spa, who will move into a street facing location at the business park, located at 16305 NW Bethany Court. Jon Ruby and Mike Holzgang, of Colliers International, represented OGA in the transaction with landlord Pacific NW Properties.
